Coach Shelby's Tried, True, and New Snack Ideas

by Shelby

We all have had a time where it’s the afternoon and we need a snack to hold us over until dinner, or maybe want a snack to accompany our lunch. I have some tried and true snacks that are my “go-to” and some new ones to share!

Apples with Salted Caramel Greek Yogurt

This is one of my all-time favorites! This is like apples and peanut butter taken to the next level. I use the Light and Fit Greek Yogurt. The benefit of Greek yogurt is that it’s lower in fat and sugar compared to peanut butter or regular yogurt. Greek yogurt is also packed with protein to leave you more satisfied after your snack!

Sweet Pepper and Cream Cheese Bites

I found this one on Instagram of all places! So maybe you have tried it but it’s new to me. You will need 3-4 sweet peppers, whipped cream cheese, and everything bagel seasoning.

  1.  Cut the tops off the peppers. Then slice them in half so you can put the cream cheese in the middle.
  2. Spread the cream cheese on the inside part of the halved peppers.
  3. Sprinkle the everything bagel seasoning over the peppers and cream cheese.
If you do not like peppers this can also be done with other vegetables, like celery or cucumbers. I love this snack because you get 6-8 halves, which is a satisfying amount. Plus, the mix of the salty seasoning, sweet and spicy taste of the sweet pepper, and the creamy cream cheese satisfy all of my cravings!

No Bake Energy Bites

These are a great sweet treat to give you a little energy boost! The recipe is simple with easy ingredients to keep on hand. You can make these in many different flavors. I’ve shared my favorite recipe for these before. It’s the recipe from the blog BlessThisMess. Check out this recipe and find the flavor that’s your family’s favorite!
