Fraud and Abuse

What is fraud and abuse? Fraud occurs when someone intentionally falsifies information or deceives someone to gain health care services or payment. Abuse occurs when doctors or suppliers don’t follow good medical practices, resulting in unnecessary costs to the public assistance program, improper payment, or services that aren’t medically necessary.

Group Health Cooperative of Eau Claire is dedicated to fighting health care fraud and abuse.
