COVID-19 Vaccine and Testing

Do it for you, Do it for all of us

While the COVID-19 pandemic has changed our lives and kept us apart, there is hope—the COVID-19 vaccine is an opportunity to take back our health and get back to ‘normal’. But in order to leave COVID behind it will require all of us to do our part. Our Do it campaign is designed to educate and support those who may have concerns, worries and fears about the COVID vaccine to help them understand the critical role these vaccines play in ending this pandemic. It also encourages as many people as possible to get vaccinated when they’re eligible and able. Our community health depends on each of us playing our part and getting vaccinated when we can. The best way for all of us to get better is to do it for each other. Get the latest information about the COVID-19 vaccinations as well as updates on where, when and how they’re being made available by visiting https://www.vaccines.gov/.

Tips for talking about COVID-19 vaccines:

  • Listen with empathy and ask open-ended questions.

  • Ask for their permission to share information.

  • Share why you chose to get vaccinated.

  • Help them find their own reason for getting vaccinated.

  • Acknowledge that this might be where the conversation stays.

  • Help your friends and family members get vaccinated.

Also, beginning January 15, 2022, commercial members of Group Health Cooperative of Eau Claire have coverage of FDA-approved, at-home over-the-counter COVID-19 diagnostic tests. Coverage is limited to eight tests per month for each individual on your plan.

To best serve our members, the Cooperative is offering direct coverage of over-the-counter COVID-19 tests through our current network of pharmacies.  With this option, you can pick up an over-the-counter COVID-19 test at any in network pharmacy without out of pocket cost. Most pharmacies are included in the Cooperative’s network including national chains such as CVS Health, Walgreens, Walmart, Hy-Vee and Sam’s Club.

State of Wisconsin-ETF members can access direct coverage through their pharmacy benefit.  See Over-the-Counter COVID-19 Test Coverage for additional details and resources.

If you purchase an over-the-counter COVID-19 test outside of our approved pharmacy network, or are charged upfront for the test, keep your receipt and you can submit a claim to the Cooperative for reimbursement up to $12 per individual test. If you need to submit a claim for reimbursement, please complete and mail in our At-Home Over-The-Counter COVID-19 Test Reimbursement form here.

You can also access free testing in the community. A list of community-based testing sites can be found here. COVID-19 tests in the community are available without cost-sharing to covered individuals when administered by a health care provider like a nurse, doctor, or pharmacist.
