It's that time of year folks! We're gearing up for the Seventh Annual
Haunted Hustle 5k, our charity run/walk that benefits three local non-profits.
Come on out to Owen Park on October 19th for a morning full of fun for the whole family, and support some local organizations while you're at it.
This year, our beneficiaries vying for your vote are the L.E. Phillip's Career Development Center, the Epilepsy Foundation of Western Wisconsin, and Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes.
We'll kick things off with our kids' Spooky Sprint, a half-mile fun run for kids 14 and under--costumes are encouraged! All Spooky Sprinters will receive a special participation medal for their hard work.
Then, it's time for our Haunted Hustle 5k run/walk! Enjoy a picturesque run along the Chippewa River State Trail. Our three beneficiaries will decorate portions of the course to try to win your vote! At the end of the race, participants will use a ticket on their bib number to vote for the beneficiary they believe deserves the largest portion of proceeds.
That's right! Not only do your registration costs go directly back into the community, but you also get to choose who gets the biggest piece of the (pumpkin) pie! At the end of the event, the beneficiary with the most votes receives 50% of the total proceeds from the event, second place receives 30% and third receives 20%.
After you race, we've still got plenty of fun for the whole family. Owen Park will have kids' games, local vendors, and we'll once again have our silent auction, full of goodies from local businesses!
Registration for the 2019 Haunted Hustle is open now, with early bird pricing effective until October 2nd.
