The PSL is here which means fall is right around the corner...

Fall is here! I know this because the Starbucks beloved beverage, Pumpkin Spice Latte, is being advertised already. Now this may not be a popular opinion because it seems as though everyone just loves the drink but I hate it! Don’t get me wrong, I love everything sweet. But the taste just seems…off to me. I’m not sure what it is, I just can’t get into the PSL. However, there are lots of other fall-themed snacks I can get behind!

  • Roasted pumpkin seeds: no, I don’t roast my own, I just buy them. They are great for satisfying a salty craving. They are a good source of magnesium, zinc and omega-3s so grab a small handful in the afternoon instead of those potato chips.   • Spicy pumpkin soup: I go back to this recipe time and time again from Coach Joanna. It’s so delicious and so easy to make!
  • Pumpkin tea: there are endless options when it comes to seasonal pumpkin tea but my favorite has been Teavana’s Pumpkin Spice Brulee. No sweetener or milk needed, sweet enough on its own.
  • Apple crisp is one of my favorite fall desserts but I’m trying to avoid the high calorie dishes. Spark People has a really easy, lower sugar and lower calorie recipe I’ve used that satisfies the craving.

The other great thing about fall is the fantastic weather! The cool and sunny days provide a great opportunity to go explore an apple orchard with the family.
