Nama-STAY in Bed With a Good Book!

by Melissa

Reading for just 6 minutes a day can provide a ton of health benefits. It can reduce stress levels, alleviates anxiety, can help you fall asleep and has been shown to reduce heart rate and muscle tension. Seems like a pretty good reason to pick up a book, right?

Better yet, studies show if you increase that amount to 30 minutes a day, you can actually increase your life expectancy.

Even if you're a busy bee and don't have the time to sit down and read, audiobooks can be a great addition to your daily tasks or workouts! Here in Eau Claire, the local library even lets your borrow audiobooks from the convenience of your phone or tablet using free apps like hoopla and Libby.

Got you in the reading mood? Great! With the weather getting colder, the days getting shorter and potentially HOURS of holiday travel right around the corner, there's no better time than now to curl up with a good book!

Lately I have been loving psychological thrillers such as The Girl on The Train by Paula Hawkins, Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris, and The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn.

Recently, a coworker lent me the book The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen. This book pulled me in from the beginning and just when I thought I knew what was coming, the plot would take a completely unexpected turn! I spent two nights up way past my 8:30 bedtime reading this book because I could not wait to find out what was going to happen.

I won't tell you too much because I do not want to spoil this book for you. What I will tell you is that the book is told from the point of view of a woman who is engaged to a man who is not quite what she thinks. We follow along her journey as she finds more and more out about him and we learn more about her past.

Trust me, you won't be sorry you picked this book up!

Do you have any book recommendations?
