Coach Shelby's June Favorites

by Shelby
Summer is finally in full swing! Minus a few things such as pools opening and little leagues starting. But at least we can see our loved ones more than we could 2 months ago. I figured I could share some of my current favorites so far this summer.

Favorite Treat

Banana Peanut Butter Smoothie

2 servings

Ingredients:

1 whole banana (frozen), 1 cup Oikos Triple Zero Vanilla Greek Yogurt, and 2 tbsp peanut butter
Yes, there are only 3 ingredients but trust me, it is so good! This recipe serves 2 with about 220 calories and 15 grams of protein in each serving. This is a very filling snack so I usually have it after a workout or as an evening treat. Plus, the frozen banana gives it an ice cream-like consistency and it tastes like a dessert!

Favorite Blog

Bless This Mess

I love this blog because she has some of the best recipes for everything from breakfast to quick dinners to easy desserts! There are always great seasonal recipes on this blog. She is a mom of 5 and understands being busy. She puts together recipes that are delicious but also on the healthy side. One of my favorite recipes is her Energy Ball Recipe!

Favorite Part of My Morning Routine

My morning routine is always changing. The basics stay the same but other details are a little different right now.

The new thing I’ve been doing is getting up before my 5-month old daughter, grabbing my cup of coffee, and sitting on our back porch for at least 10 minutes. Just sitting, no phone, no distractions, just me, my coffee, and the singing birds.

The sun comes up very early this time of year so I figured taking advantage of that would help me ease into early mornings. I absolutely love it! I encourage you to try it. It’s very relaxing to just sit and listen or even read a book for a little while.
