Coach Megan's Favorites: February Edition

by Megan
Ugh, I’m so sick of winter. I realize there are many people out there who enjoy snow and winter activities but I am not one of them. Spring, please come soon, I can’t wait to walk through puddles instead of snow and ice.

Anyways, here are several of my favorite things this month.

For my mind

Sudoku and crosswords. I ordered some inexpensive books a few months back and am still enjoying these puzzles. Consider it my mental exercise. When everyone has gone to bed I enjoy completing a Sudoku puzzle by myself. When it comes to the crossword puzzles, I like to fill out as many as I can and then I leave it out for my husband to contribute some answers. Once in awhile we complete a full puzzle!

For my body

Running outside. I understand that there are people out there who hate running, and that’s great, there is room for all of us. I enjoy running and have largely been inside on the treadmill the past few months just because it’s safer and easier for me but I got to go on vacation a few weeks ago to South Carolina and I ran outside each morning and it was SO. MUCH. FUN. It wasn’t that warm, it was in the 50s, but the sun was out and snow was nowhere to be found. I got to check out the amazing beach houses and time flew by. When we got back home, temperatures were much cooler but I did get out last weekend when it was in the 40s and had almost as much

For my stomach

Cauliflower. This may seem very strange, but one of the best things I ate on my trip to SC was an appetizer called “General Tsao’s Cauliflower”. I’m not sure if the cauliflower was roasted or fried, but it was then covered with a spicy sauce and I’m not kidding when I say our whole group LOVED it.

So this isn’t just “health coach” telling you the cauliflower was awesome, this is three other people, two men and another woman, who said this was one of the best dishes they ate on vacation. So, it inspired me to attempt some other cauliflower recipes at home, they haven’t all been winners but I’m optimistic.

For my spirit

As someone who loves going to Target, this video hit a little too close to home, I laughed so hard and shared it with all my friends. Husbands of Target, enjoy!
